Offered is this lovely antique butter pat or butter chip in the form of a sea shell.
This gorgous butter pat was made by Bing & Grondahl of Denmark. This porcelain manufacturer was founded in 1853.
This makersmark dates this butter pat to have been made between 1948-1951.
The seagul pattern was first designed by Fanny Garde in 1895 and became the company's signature design which features flying seagulls against a pale blue background. This pattern came back in the early 1950's and became very popular again in Denmark.
This butter pat has gold on the rim and the seagull is gliding on air with his wings out streched.
It is in wonderful condition for its age with only a very small nip, as you see from the photos it does not detract from the beauty of this beautiful butter pat.
It measures 2.45 inches wide and 3.25 inches tall.
It is just beautiful!! Add this wonderful butter pat to your collection today!
I do have one more where the seagull is flying looking for food! Collect them both!
