Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this beautiful antique French faience egg cup basket!
Made between 1903-1913 before the factory of Jules Verlingue was destroyed by fire. His factory in Boulogne-sur-Mer was not far from Desvres or Rouen and he often did the same type of decoration on his items. His items have been included in the Desvres Museum, see the last photo!
This unusual egg basket is hand painted with flowers in a blue cartouche. The colors are blue, green, yellow and orange on white. The handle is torsade like a rope. It holds 6 hard or soft boiled eggs!
This will be a great addition to your Sunday brunch with the family or just a really great addition to your antique egg cup collection!
It is signed by Jules Verlingue as seen in the photos.
It is in excellent condition for its great age with no chips or cracks! It does have a few glaze skips on the inside of the cups which is common with antique faience and majolica.
It measures 6.5 inches long, 3.75 inches wide and stands 3.75 inches tall.
Add this to your private collection today or give as a fabulous gift!
