Offered for your private collection is this beautiful antique majolica cache pot planter.
Made by the Frie Onnaing majolica factory in the 1800's. It is well marked with the early Onnaing makers mark and the numbers "353".
This beautiful planter features a deeply scalloped rim with Fleurs-de-Lys in cartouche on either side. It sits on eight feet. On one side you have a beautiful bird looking left getting ready to eat a dragonfly as it gets close while sitting in a blackberry patch with pink flowers and green leaves. On the other side he is looking right, just beautiful!
The inside is a soft robin egg blue.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! It does have overall glaze crazing and stilt marks inside on the bottom from the kiln, normal and to be expected with antique majolica.
It measures 12 inches long from handle to handle, 8 inches wide and stands 8.25 inches tall.
Add this to your personal collection today or give as a fabulous and unique gift!
